You made the best choices you could at the time —
based on the knowledge you had, the resources available to you, and the person you were then.
It’s easy to look back with new understanding and judge older decisions harshly.
But hindsight brings information you didn’t have before.
You weren’t careless.
You weren’t ignoring the truth.
You were responding to what you knew in that moment.
Growth doesn’t mean your past self was wrong.
It means your present self has learned more.
You don’t need to punish yourself for not knowing what you know now.
Compassion toward your past is part of moving forward.
